Payment Options
Our therapists are people who love what they do and did not get into counseling in order to become wealthy beyond belief. Having said that, expecting payment for services rendered is an unavoidable financial reality.
High-quality mental health can be expensive
The PORCH philosophy is that every person should have access to mental health treatment.
For those without insurance, we have a sliding scale program in which a modest payment is based on how many people are in your household and annual income.
Each PORCH therapist honors the sliding scale, but their exact per-session cost varies. Ask and they will be glad to discuss it with you.
Insurance
As independent professionals, each PORCH therapist is responsible for their own credentialing.
Therefore, not every therapist is able to accept every insurance type. The credentialing process takes time as they must receive individual approval from each carrier.
Depending on the professional license held, a therapist may find it easier to procure some insurance than others.
At the PORCH, One or more therapists are credentialed with the following insurance carriers:
- Medicaid
- United Health Care – Commercial
- Aetna
- BlueCross BlueShield
- Meritain
- Cigna
- Ambetter
- Medpay
- Various EAP programs
- Tricare
- Oscar
- Oxford health plans
- Empire
- Wellcare
We strive to keep this list current but feel free to call our main office at 417-815-6313 if you have a question about whether or not we have someone who can accept your insurance.
(January 2025) Currently, we are having difficulty placing those with Medicare or Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) for therapy. We only have one therapist credentialed with Medicare, and BCBS seems to have come to a dead stop in approving new therapists for billing credentials. Hopefully, this will change in the near future.
